The Minocqua Island Business Association is excited to announce the return of this FREE\, four-part Sunday concert series! Join us for a fun afternoon at the beautiful Torpy Park\, located on Lake Minocqua! \nThe Northwoods Wildlife Center will be serving up tasty concessions\, so please remember that outside food and drinks are not allowed. Just grab your blankets and lawn chairs\, and get ready for an incredible time filled with great music and positive vibes! Bring your friends and family for a fantastic community gathering you won’t want to miss! Refreshments available: Brats\, hotdogs\, chips & snacks\, beer\, hard seltzer\, soda & water. \nA big THANK YOU goes to our members of The Minocqua Island Business Association for all your fundraising efforts! All solo artists in their own right\, they each bring unique elements to the sonic blend: Winters with guitar\, percussion\, and harmonica; Anderson with piano; and Sheppard with a ukulele\, and looper. They cover a wide variety of genres spanning several decades\, using three-part harmonies and a blend of folk\, cinematic and pop music to craft eclectic soundscapes. \nPrice: FREE \n

The three dug into their songwriting back catalogs to show off songs that were either not bluegrass enough (in the case of Anthony Ihrig and Christopher’s band The High 48s)\, not country enough (in the case of Becky Schlegel’s solo project) or just plain too weird for any other project.\nIt was at this open house for misfit songs that the three got the idea to start a new band\, one whose sound showed Christopher\, Ihrig and Schlegel’s country and bluegrass roots but wasn’t bound by tradition. With the addition of bassist Kevin Rowe (Buffalo Gospel\, Space Burritos)\, who had recently moved to the Twin Cities from Madison\, WI\, Clover and the Bee was born. Named after a line from Emily Dickinson’s poem “To Make a Prairie\,” Clover and the Bee play American roots music that’s as free and expansive as the wide-open flatlands of the Upper Midwest. \n  \nPrice: Free

DESCRIPTION:This program\, for November 21\, is fully booked. You can use the form below to register for future dates.\n \nLooking for an engaging and educational way to spark your child’s love for nature this fall? Join us for our brand-new After-School Education Programs at the Northwoods Wildlife Center! Students will explore the wonders of wildlife and the natural world through interactive programs featuring live animals\, nature-based activities\, and hands-on learning. \nPrograms include topics like Birds of Prey with Tommi\, our Live Red-Tailed Hawk\, Turtles of Wisconsin with Woody\, our ambassador wood turtle\, Insects\, Fossils\, Rocks and Minerals\, and many more! \nLearn all about raptors\, their incredible hunting skills\, and the vital role they play in nature. This is your child’s chance to get up close and personal with one of our majestic feathered residents! \nPrograms are FREE\,  and parents are welcome to attend\, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required by 4 PM the day before the program.\n \nAges: 5 and up.
