Board and Staff Members

Meet our staff

Thanks to our talented wildlife rehabbers and dedicated board members, the Northwoods Wildlife Center is able to continue our mission in providing a better future for wildlife through education, rehabilitation, and research.

Bryon Black

Executive Director

After serving as a board member and volunteer, and after the previous director had to leave due to health reasons, Bryon felt that he could be more involved and effective for the Northwoods Wildlife Center as the Executive Director. He brings with him years of diverse experience from fields such as marketing, graphic design, web, and application development. Bryon has also had a life long interest and commitment in the health and well being of our wild animal populations.

Kayla Dell’Anno

Advanced Wildlife Rehabber

Kayla started out as an intern with the Northwoods Wildlife Center in 2022, then again in 2023! After her second internship, it was clear to all of us that she had a knack for wildlife rehabilitation. So when an opening for a new wildlife rehabilitator came up, she was one of the first people we thought of. Obviously, we were thrilled when she accepted the job!

Sheridan Perry Wildlife Rehabber

Sheridan Perry

Advanced Wildlife Rehabber

Sheridan comes to the Northwoods Wildlife Center with a diverse set of skills gained from an equally diverse set of educational and professional experiences. She has her advanced wildlife rehab licese and hires and manages our interns, helps with educational programs, and records and publishes our podcast – the WildPhiles.

Emma Blackwood

Emma Blackwood

Wildlife Rehabber

Emma interned for us here at the Wildlife Center in the summer of 2023 and enjoyed her time enough to come back in the spring of 2025 as an employee!
Emma has always known that she wanted to work with wildlife, but it wasn’t until her summer as an intern here at NWC that she knew she wanted to pursue a career in wildlife rehabilitation. She got her basic rehabilitation license at the beginning of 2026!

Abby Nies

Abby Nies

Administrative Assistant

Abby’s responsibilities span many aspects of the Center’s day-to-day operations, including donor and membership management, fundraising support, social media coordination, and administrative assistance across multiple departments. Abby also helps produces the Center’s podcast, Wildphiles, helping share stories of wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, and community engagement.
Known for her versatility and attention to detail, Abby plays an integral role in keeping the organization running smoothly while helping strengthen connections between the Northwoods Wildlife Center and the communities it serves.

Randy Clure

Randy Clure

Maintenance Manager

Randy Clure does far more than keep our facilities clean, safe, and looking their best. He also plays a key role in facility maintenance and improvement projects throughout the Center. When something breaks, wears out, or needs attention, Randy is often the first person to tackle the problem—or to find the right person to help get it resolved.
Calling Randy a “jack-of-all-trades” is almost an understatement. His practical skills, resourcefulness, and dedication help keep the Northwoods Wildlife Center running smoothly every day.
You can often hear Randy singing while he works, a talent he has shared with the community through his involvement in local musical theater productions. His cheerful spirit and positive attitude bring smiles to staff, volunteers, and visitors alike.
